You may well be thinking that I'm a passionate objector and maybe, partially that might be right. There is no denying it's use however.
I will stand strong that the benefits of employing a professional photographer in my opinion, are huge.
With the investment in a decent collaboration a long term relationship is built which continues to give birth to fresh ideas, exciting collaborations and imagery that continues to work for you and your brand or clients. Not done via an online library.
It's bespoke, its a great experience and the additional insights the photographer has of you personally can't help but have a positive effect on the photography that you are using. Often, believe it or not, it does also work out more cost effective than the alternative in the long run.
BUT, she says with a quick inhale - I fully appreciate the need and advantages that stock photography provides.
The instant turn around, the low cost that some of the images sell for helping to keep budgets tight and maybe the need for something that doesn't necessarily need to be unique to you. It's accessible and with the vastly increasing number of online stock libraries and contributors to those, the variety of imagery is frankly, really great.
So with this in mind and a pot of tea later, I'm attempting a merger!
I thought it might be an idea to start producing some of my own stock. Stock especially for clients, thoughtful of what and how they might be able to utilise it and which continues to uphold my intentions to produce more personal or non-commissioned photography. The main focus with everything I do is just to try and give a bit more, to consider my clients and their projects to make things easier and hopefully, a little fun!
As a special 'it's our first time' arrangement, I'm opening up the packs to everyone, woohoo!
